One of the deep-rooted representatives of Turkish cuisine, Yanyalı Fehmi is among my favourite lokantas in İstanbul. In this special place, which has managed to keep both tradition and flavour alive over more than a hundred years, the taste of every dish I tried stayed with me. The acem tavuğu in particular is an original plate you will not find everywhere, both in its presentation and in what goes into it. After the meal you really must try the şekerpare with a glass of tea. If the şekerpare has run out, do not be disappointed; they also serve tahinli baklava and plenty of other delicious sweets. When our visits happen to coincide, the enjoyable conversations I have with Ergin Sönmezler make my visit even more special.
