Todos Los Dias
Rehberin Notları
Todos Los Dias, which brings a fresh breath to İstanbul with an atmosphere and a menu all of its own, went straight into my favourites in the city on my first visit. Esen Hünal, Maksut Aşkar and Erim Leblebicioğlu have come together to give İstanbul a truly singular address. The motto of the place is perfectly clear: “To live everyday like Sunday.”
Although it carries a Spanish name, on Todos Los Dias's menu you will find plates drawing inspiration from different parts of the world. Many of the things I tried I had never seen anywhere else in İstanbul. The kapya pepper with ponzu and the curried goulash were very good, but my favourite by a long way was the bucatini. This pasta, where gochujang (Korean chilli paste), labneh, garlic and sesame come together, is legendary in the fullest sense of the word. And to close, I would recommend the soft serve ice cream served with matchstick fries with my eyes closed. It is a delightful dessert that appeals to the eye as much as to the palate.
On every item on the menu you will also see the original ceramic plates signed by Tülin Bozüyük. On the cocktail side, it is Mehmet Koryürek's Uma Drinkery that greets us. I do not normally go for margaritas, but I loved the Umarita. I do not usually get into the interior design of a place, but I will make an exception for this one. The colourful wall signed by Beril Ateş that meets you the moment you step inside has given the place a strong identity with real character. In short, Todos Los Dias is one of those addresses where you feel good while eating good food.
