The world's first tahini boutique, The Levant Tahinier keeps to the same standard on both sides of İstanbul. It reads tahini not merely as something for the breakfast table but as a gastronomic ingredient across a broad range running from savoury to sweet. You can feel the character of tahini in many of the plates on the menu, though one of the details I liked most is how balanced its use is, never pushing ahead of the other ingredients. My own favourites are the Rocher and the Hazelnut One. The intense aroma of hazelnut and the roasted notes of tahini complete each other perfectly. The way the tea is served is an experience in itself.
