Majestic Cafe

Rehberin Notları

Majestic Café, where I ate the first meal of my 28th year, is one of the oldest establishments in Porto. I loved the way the place holds on to its history and looks entirely modern at the same time. The breakfast on the menu strikes me as needlessly expensive, but I would still suggest dropping in for the tea selection and the pastries. The croissants in particular are sweeter than we are used to. That comes down to the fact that pastries in Portugal are generally made to recipes closer to desserts; heavily sugared sweets like pastel de nata have a strong hold on the kitchen here.
