Lokanta by Divan turned out to be one of the surprise lunch stops of 2025 for me. Given the awards it has collected I was confident of a good meal, but the food went beyond even what I had expected. Volkan Arık and his team, who are modernising Turkish cooking, put a different surprise on every plate. The walnut bread they bring out goes especially well alongside the soups. The artichoke garden plate lets you see the artichoke in several different forms, while the cucumber pearls and the peach sorbet carry it to an entirely different level. The meat börek made with baklava pastry, on its bed of red pepper marmalade, leaves a lovely trace on the palate. With every plate both delicious and filling I had no room left for a main course, but I cannot wait to visit again.
