One of the first things that comes to mind when you say the Arabian Peninsula is, without any doubt, dates. Green Lawn is one of the businesses in the date market that stands out for the breadth of what it carries. I particularly liked the fresh Sukkari dates native to Saudi Arabia, genuinely impressive for their soft texture and honeyed sweetness. On the United Arab Emirates side it is the Khaneizi date that stands out. Its flavour profile is less sugary than the Sukkari, but the aroma is extremely balanced and delicious. Comparing these two dates, which speak to different palates, turned out to be a very enjoyable way of coming to understand the region's date culture better.
