Golden Diner was the breakfast stop I was most curious about on my last trip. I would strongly suggest booking, otherwise you could be waiting close to two hours. This small shop in Chinatown blends classic American culture with Asian flavours. The portion of chicken katsu is unbelievably large, but just as delicious. In the egg and cheese sando, the hashbrown inside takes the sandwich to another level. Their savoury dishes are very good, but the signature item here is definitely the pancake. Butter, honeyed maple syrup and lemon zest go on top of a pancake like a cloud. The salt in the batter makes for a plate with a very good sweet-savoury balance.
