Flat Iron

Flat Iron is one of the city's successful steak chains, and the butcher's cleaver theme makes for an enjoyable experience. To be honest I did not find the flavour I was looking for in the classic steaks, but I liked the wagyu among their specials very much. The bavette in particular (the lower belly of the animal) was cooked exactly as I wanted it, juicy and beautifully tender. The sides were good enough to almost rival the meat. The mashed potato especially stayed with me, and serving it with a crisp of bone marrow is both delicious and a creative touch. When you pay the bill you are given one cleaver token for each person at the table. Using these tokens you can pick up a free ice cream on your way out.
