The Fairmont sits inside the Flame Towers, which take their name from a fire that never goes out, and the high ceiling and enormous chandelier cast their spell the moment you step through the door. You can see the towers from many points around the city, and every time the view is a striking meeting of modern architecture and historic fabric. The rooms are generously sized, and because the whole facade is glass they offer a lovely panorama in the evenings. Breakfast carries hints of both the local and the world's kitchens, though at this price level I think you can find far richer breakfasts in the city.
