Eflatun Alaçatı is a hidden gem for anyone who wants to slip away from the crowds of the market and breathe in a quiet courtyard. Between the calm atmosphere and the careful plating, what comes out of it is a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The zeytinyağlı dishes and the cold mezes were absolutely fresh, and the hazelnut tarator that arrives with the grilled squid gives the classics an original touch. My favourite, though, was the sea bass with iç pilav, by some distance. It is one of those rare plates where sweet and savoury meet in such balance. There is also a broad wine list to match the food.
