I stop by Asma Yaprağı on every visit to Çeşme, and I have never once left unhappy. Choosing from the mezes laid out in the kitchen is one of the best parts of the whole experience. They then arrive on enamel plates, carrying all the warmth of an Aegean table. Sinkonta has been my favourite for years and is still the best I have had. The sour cherry mezes that change with the season, the stuffed courgette flowers and the domat aşı are all worth trying. Dinner service exists, but I enjoy coming at lunchtime far more.
