I first went to Afitap in Ankara and was so pleased with it that when I spotted the Terminal Kadıköy branch I went straight in. Calling this place merely a meyhane does not quite cover it; with its own distinctive dishes Afitap has something to suit every palate. The İrlanda Ezmesi in particular, where shredded beef meets strained yoghurt, labne and pepper, is unforgettable. The hot starters are so filling that I had no room left for a main course. Even so, I would suggest taking a look at the desserts. Weekends get a little crowded and loud, so for a more enjoyable time I would go on a weekday.
